Doug Melamed is Vice President and Senior Corporate Counselor at Intel. Prior to joining Intel, Mr. Melamed was a partner in the Washington, D.C., office of WilmerHale, where he was a leader in its Regulatory and Government Affairs Department and served as a chair of the Antitrust and Competition Practice Group. Melamed served in the U.S. Department of Justice as acting assistant attorney general in charge of the Antitrust Division and as principal deputy assistant attorney general (1996 to 2001). Melamed has been the Distinguished Visitor from Practice and an adjunct professor at the Georgetown University Law Center, and a visiting professor at the Stanford Law School. He is a contributing editor of the Antitrust Law Journal and a member of the Board of Academic Advisors of the Journal of Law, Economics and Policy at George Mason University. He received his bachelor’s degree from Yale University (1967) and his juris doctorate from Harvard Law School (1970).
