Vasil is a lawyer specialising in EU competition law and a legal counsel with CDC Cartel Damage Claims Consulting (CDC) in Brussels. He is considered as one of the counsels with the most substantive multijurisdictional experience in the field of European private antitrust enforcement due to his involvement in some of the largest damages cases in Europe. Prior to joining CDC, Vasil worked as a Member of the Legal Service of the European Commission within the team in charge of the European Union actions for damages, including those resulting from antitrust infringements. He started his professional career as a clerk at the chambers of a judge from the EU General Court. In addition to his legal advice and litigation activities, Vasil has significantly contributed to the process on the adoption and (ongoing) implementation of the Antitrust Damages Directive. Vasil graduated in private law at University Robert Schuman, Strasbourg and holds an LL.M in European law and litigation from the University of Luxembourg as well as a diploma in business law from University College Cork, Ireland.
