Since May 2022, Andrew Forman has been Deputy Assistant Attorney General at the Antitrust Division, U.S. Department of Justice. Previously, Andrew had been a Partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Paul Weiss. Before he was a Partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP’s. His practice involved counseling clients in a wide range of antitrust matters, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and representing clients in connection with investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Andy also has experience in private antitrust litigation, including antitrust class action litigation. He has represented clients in matters involving a wide variety of industries, including software, pharmaceutical, airline, automobile, semiconductor, industrial and engineered products, and consumer products. Among the clients Andy has represented are US Airways, Pfizer, Microsoft and Goodyear. Recognized as a leading antitrust lawyer, Andy was recommended in The Legal 500 (2012) for his work in merger clearances. Prior to joining Cadwalader, Andy worked for the FTC’s Bureau of Competition (Mergers I), where he helped lead antitrust investigations in large mergers and acquisitions in the pharmaceutical, medical device, consumer products and aircraft components industries. He received his J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University and his undergraduate degree, as an Honors Graduate, from Washington University in St. Louis. Following law school, Andy served as a judicial law clerk for the D.C. Court of Appeals. He is admitted to the bar in the District of Columbia and Maryland.
