Based in Parr Global’s Mumbai office, Freny is highly skilled at reporting on, and analyzing developments in, the Indian and South East Asian markets, identifying how global regulatory changes impact emerging Asian markets. She has an excellent track record in covering M&A antitrust cases in India and South East Asia. Prior to joining PaRR, Freny was Associate Editor for mergermarket in Asia where she covered the South East Asian energy, telecom and financial services sectors, with a particular focus on regulatory and competition issues. Freny has over ten years’ reporting and editing experience, having worked for local newspapers in both India and Hong Kong. She was Chief of Bureau at Observer of Business & Politics in India where she had her own Insurance Regulatory column. Thereafter, she joined Business Standard, the second largest financial daily in India where, in addition to heading the Banking Bureau as an editor, Freny also worked on a number of business supplements, including two in collaboration with the South African Embassy to promote Indo-South African ties.
