Gerardo Calderon-Villegas


Gerardo Calderón received his law degree form the Universidad Panamericana and was admitted to practice law in Mexico in 2005. He has over eight years of experience in competition and antitrust law and has been ranked by Chambers and Partners and Legal500 as a leader in this field. He also has vast experience in handling Compliance and Anticorruption matters. He has been appointed as non governmental advisor for the Mexican Competition Commission before the International Competition Network. He has been professor of economic competition law in the Universidad Panamericana. Aeas of practice are competition / antitrust litigation and counseling, administrative litigation and constitutional trials (amparo). He advises and represents clients on all kinds of proceedings before the Mexican antitrust authority, such as in analyzing and drafting pre-merger filings in connection with a vast range of industries; the integration or defense of litigation cases alleging monopolistic practices or illegal concentrations; obtaining favorable opinions to participate in public bidding processes, among others.
