Gerasimos Alex. Sofianatos was born in Athens on 1978. He studied law at the University of Thessaloniki (L.L.B. 2001). He continued his studies in France at the Sorbonne University were he graduated with a master in Business Law and Economics (Droit des affaires et de l’économie); specialized in Competition Law. Under the supervision of Professor Claude Lucas de Leyssac, he undertook Phd studies at the Sorbonne University with a scholarship from the “Alexandros S. Onassis foundation”. His thesis on “Injunctions and Commitments in Competition Law, a study on European, French and Greek Law”, received Magna Cum Laude on the 25th of February 2008. He is a qualified lawyer of the Athens Bar Association from September 2008. His areas of interest are Competition Law and Civil Law applied on Commercial contracts (Droit civil des affaires). He is policy officer at DG CNECT (European Commission).
