Michael L. Katz holds the Sarin Chair in Strategy and Leadership at the University of California, Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, where he also serves as the Director of the Institute for Business Innovation. In addition, Dr. Katz is a professor in Berkeley’s Department of Economics. Dr. Katz served in the Bush Administration as Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Economic Analysis in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice from September 2001 through January 2003. Dr. Katz served in the Clinton Administration as Chief Economist of the Federal Communications Commission from January 1994 through January 1996. Dr. Katz has published numerous articles on the economics of networks industries, intellectual property, telecommunications policy, and antitrust enforcement.
