Valentin Mircea was Vice-President of the Romanian Competition Council between May 2009 and October 2013. At the beginning of his professional career, Mr. Mircea has been in the private practice, as a lawyer specialized in business law, with KPMG and later with the UK law firms Sinclair Roche & Temperley and Stephenson Harwood. Mr. Valentin Mircea holds an LLB from the Law Faculty, University of Bucharest, (1996), a diploma of general university studies (DEUG) from Sorbonne University (Pantheon-Assas, 1996), a ”Magna cum Laudae” PhD at the Bucharest University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Competition and Consumer Law from the University of Melbourne (Australia). Mr. Mircea is the author of several books and more than 50 articles on competition and regulatory matters in Romanian and international peer-reviewed publications. Mr. Mircea is the host of the blog specialised in competition matters stateofcompetition.eu.
