ContactPrior to re-joining Freshfields, Jan served as an attorney advisor to Commissioner Joshua D. Wright of the FTC. Jan advised Commissioner Wright on a range of competition and consumer protection issues, including providing merger and conduct enforcement recommendations, drafting speeches, statements, and Congressional testimony, and leading an effort to publish guidelines articulating the boundaries of the FTC’s authority under Section 5 of the FTC Act. Previously, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Mark S. Davis of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Jan is an active member of the ABA Section of Antitrust Law, and serves as an Editor of the Antitrust Law Journal.
