John E. Kwoka is the Neal F. Finnegan Distinguished Professor of Economics at Northeastern University. He has previously served in various capacities at the Federal Trade Commission, the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice, and the Federal Communications Commission, and has taught at several universities. He is the author of the influential evaluation of merger policy in Mergers, Merger Control, and Remedies and the successor book of recommendations Controlling Mergers and Market Power. Together with L.J. White and T. Valletti, Kwoka is co-editor of a new compendium of important antitrust cases in the U.S, U.K., and EU, entitled Antitrust in a Time of Upheaval. Kwoka was on leave as Chief Economist to the Chair or the FTC during the academic year 2021-2022 and continues as consultant. He is participating strictly in his personal capacity.
