Anisha Chand is a Mumbai-based partner with Khaitan & Co’s competition / antitrust law practice. Anisha Chand advises domestic and multinational companies on a full spectrum of competition matters, including cartel enforcement, abuse of dominance, merger control, leniency, dawn raids and competition audit / compliance. Her cross-sectoral experience includes both traditional sectors such as cement, pharmaceutical, telecommunications, etc. and new age markets such as e-commerce, radio taxis, digital media, etc. Anisha holds extensive merger control experience through involvement in complex and challenging M&A deals. For instance, she was involved in the first phase II investigation in India in Sun Pharma/Ranbaxy. Other recent and significant matters include Reliance Retail Ventures / Future Group, Brookfield Asset Management / RMZ Corp, Nuvoco Vistas Corp/Emami Cement, Nippon Express/Future Supply Chain Solutions, Advent International/Aditya Birla Capital, Nippon Life Insurance / Reliance Nippon AMC, Pfizer, Inc./ GlaxoSmithKline plc., Sony Pictures/Ten Sports, SoftBank/Flipkart, Zydus Wellness/Kraft Heinz, etc. Anisha has also advised clients in some watershed enforcement cases in India including the cement cartel case, tyre cartel case, and the auto-parts (dominance) case. Anisha Chand has been a resource person on merger control and abuse of dominance modules for the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Anisha Chand has been consistently recognised for her expertise in Who’s Who Legal: Future Leaders. She has featured as a Recommended Lawyer in the competition space in the Legal 500 (Asia Pacific). She has been recognised as a noted competition lawyer in the 2020 edition of GCR 100 and also as the youngest lawyer among GCR’s 40 Under 40 survey of 2020. Anisha has also contributed extensively on behalf of the firm to the initiatives by the Competition Law review Committee in reviewing and recommending reforms to the Indian competition law regime.
