Sandya Booluck is a Principal Analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions Division at the COMESA Competition Commission since 2016. She has over 10 years of experience in competition law enforcement. Prior to her current appointment, she worked with the Competition Commission of Mauritius, and the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore. Ms. Booluck holds a BSc (Hons) Degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Mauritius, a master’s degree in Applied Economics from the National University of Singapore, and a master’s degree in Global Competition and Consumer Law from the University of Melbourne. Her duties at the COMESA Competition Commission include advanced merger assessment, training case handlers at national competition authorities in the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa on mergers, assisting Member States in the review and harmonisation of their competition laws, and training of Board members at the national competition authorities. She was instrumental in the drafting of the COMESA-SADC-EAC Tripartite Competition Protocol.
