David Gilo served as director general of the Israel Antitrust Authority from April 2011 to September 2015. He is full professor at the Buchmann Law School at Tel Aviv University. His areas of research and teaching are antitrust, industrial organization, consumer contracts, law and economics, and torts. He has published more than 40 academic articles in these fields. His work on cross-ownership among competitors, excessive pricing by dominant firms, telecom network interconnection and the interface between consumer contracts and competition have been influential worldwide. Gilo has an LLB in law and BA in economics from Tel Aviv University, a PhD in economics from Tel Aviv University, and a doctoral law degree from Harvard Law School. He pursued an academic career in Israel starting in 1996, and served as a member of the Israeli Antitrust Tribunal.
