Frederik is an associate in the international Public Procurement group and Competition & EU group of Bird & Bird in Copenhagen. As a part of the Danish Public Procurement team and the Competition & EU team, he is involved in a broad range of domestic and international cases in competition law and public procurement law. Project planning and management is crucial to client service. In his experience, project planning and a realistic structuring of the procurement process must not be under estimated as this is a key element of reaping the benefits of the public procurement rules. Drawing on this experience, he pays particular attention to this in my work and he finds the strategic organisation of the procurement process very interesting and valuable for clients. He advises public contracting entities with planning and completion of all phases of the procurement process, including technical dialogue with the market, drafting and quality assurance of procurement documents, preparation of framework agreements, conducting the prequalification evaluation, negotiations and evaluations of tenders. He has valuable insight from both sides of a procurement project, as he also assists tenderers in the tendering process. He has advised clients on several competition & EU law matters, including antitrust cases; dealing with abuse of dominance, competition restricting agreements, compliance programmes and setting up selective distribution and franchise systems. He is a part of the Competition & EU group’s newsletter editorial committee which provides insight on recent developments in competition law internationally. As a member of the committee, he knows the majority of Bird & Bird’s competition lawyers worldwide and so he is always able to find the right lawyer to meet clients’ needs.
