Georg Clemens is a senior economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Düsseldorf. Georg Clemens has worked on a number of high-profile cases relating to a wide range of competition matters including antitrust investigations, mergers and cartel damage estimations. He has advised clients in a wide variety of industries including agriculture, bathroom-fittings, energy, FMCG, financial services, media, oil services, semiconductors, tech, telecommunications, and truck manufacturing, across several jurisdictions in English, French, and German. He is currently working on antitrust issues related to “big data” and is a member of Compass Lexecon’s big data working group. Before joining in 2015, Georg worked for an economic consultancy specializing in competition in Berlin. Georg Clemens holds a Ph.D. (magna cum laude) in Economics from DICE (University of Düsseldorf) and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Bonn, where he specialized in European competition policy and European regulation of network industries. Georg is a visiting lecturer at the University of Düsseldorf. His research has been published in Competition Policy International and in the Journal of Economics & Management Strategy. He was recognized as a “Future Leader” in competition by Who’s Who Legal in 2020 and is listed in Who’s Who Legal’s Competition Economists 2021 listing.
