George L. Priest is the Edward J. Phelps Professor of Law and Economics at Yale Law School. He has a B.A. from Yale and a J.D. from the University of Chicago. He teaches courses in antitrust, insurance, regulation, and capitalism, including a film course on the treatment of capitalism in film and has focused his research over the past decades on antitrust, the operation of private and public insurance, and the role of the legal system in promoting economic growth.
