Professor Dr Justus Haucap is the Director of the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE) at Heinrich-Heine-University. He previously served as a member of the German Monopolies Commission, which he chaired for four years (2008-2012). Before taking his current position, Professor Haucap also held positions at numerous universities including the University of California (Berkeley, USA), the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg, Ruhr-University of Bochum and the Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. He chairs the working group on competition policy of the German Economic Association, and is a member of the scientific advisory board of the Federal Network Agency as well as other boards. His main research areas are competition economics and regulation of infrastructure-based markets.
