Khushita Vasant is Senior Competition Reporter in the Brussels bureau of the Policy and Regulatory Report (PaRR). Since joining PaRR in 2016, she has written extensively about standard essential patent (SEP) and FRAND disputes in Europe alongside broader themes at the intersection of intellectual property and competition law. Ms. Vasant also regularly covers EU abuse of dominance cases involving Big Tech - such as the Google Shopping and Android cases - and excessive pricing and pay-for-delay investigations in the pharmaceuticals sector. She started as a financial journalist in 2008 in New Delhi, later moving to India’s financial capital Mumbai to cover the sovereign debt and foreign exchange markets. She broke stories on corporate debt issuance and wrote about India’s monetary policy in the backdrop of the financial crisis for Dow Jones Newswires and The Wall Street Journal between 2010 and 2013. Vasant has a journalism degree from the University of Mumbai and a joint Erasmus Mundus Master’s degree in international relations from the Leipzig University and the University of Vienna.
