Peter Herrickis a partner at O’Melveny & Myers. Previously, he was a partner in Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider LLP’s New York office and has represented clients in the most complex and challenging transactions and antitrust litigation for nearly 20 years. In addition to acting on behalf of clients before the FTC, DOJ, and other antitrust regulators, Pete leads high stakes antitrust litigation for clients in federal court, examining witnesses at trial, arguing summary judgment and other critical motions, and taking dozens of depositions. During his time as Senior Trial Counsel in the FTC’s litigation group, Pete played principal roles in antitrust investigations and FTC federal district court challenges to mergers. While at the FTC, Pete co-led the FTC’s 18-day trial and victory in FTC et al. v. St. Luke’s Health System, Inc. et al. and was a key trial team member in the FTC’s successful merger challenges in FTC v. Phoebe Putney Health System and FTC v. OSF Health System. Over the course of his time in government and private practice, Pete has fully litigated six merger challenges in federal district court, both for and against the government. Pete also speaks and writes regularly on a wide range of antitrust issues, including counseling, merger analysis and strategy, and litigation risk.
