Shaha El-Sheemy joined Norton Rose Fulbright in 2009. She is a competition lawyer based in the firm’s London office. She specialises in UK and EU competition/antitrust law and international regulatory issues and has particular expertise regarding market investigations by regulators. Her range of experience also includes UK/EU merger notifications, cartels investigations and competition litigation. Prior to joining the firm and qualifying into the antitrust, competition and regulatory group, Shaha El-Sheemy read Law (First Class Honours) at the Universities of Aberdeen and Lyon and was awarded a Diploma of European Law from the European University Institute in Florence. She also worked at the European Parliament in Brussels in the legislative affairs committee within the Directorate-General for Internal Policies (DG IPOL).
