Mexico´s Federal Commission for Economic Competition (COFECE) submits this document with proposals for promoting competition in several markets which are relevant for the national economy due to their cross-cutting impact (i.e. energy, transport or financial) and/or for being related to generalized consumption goods, whose prices have a direct effect on Mexican families’ spending (e.g., medicines or passenger transportation). These proposals stem from various market studies and opinions previously issued by COFECE, and given the current context of economic slowdown are more significant and timely due to their potential to contribute to economic recovery and social welfare.
