The nature of EU law is characterized by its supremacy on inferior legal systems and the respect of the hierarchy of norms. Nevertheless, effectiveness in the European Union could also be enhanced with the influence of decentralised entities. First, this essay will discuss the notion of independence of NCAs, as decentralised authorities. Second, it both significant legal instruments which illustrate the effectiveness of NCAs at decentralised level and in the improvement of the EU Law on several selected points, respectively from the Damage Directive and the ECN+ Directive . To conclude this essay, a short reflection on independence of NCAs will be provided.
